The tape as seen in this video |
Album Info:
In 1993, when Jason Martin was still calling his band Star Flyer 2000 (though "Hester Prynnes" was another name he'd considered), he recorded a demo at Bob Moon's house for Michael Knott's short-lived record label Siren Records. (For more information regarding the recording process of these demos, check out my exclusive interview with Bob Moon.) Jason met Tooth & Nail head Brandon Ebel at a music festival that same year and provided him with the demo tape. Ebel loved what he heard and quickly signed Jason, and within a year Starflyer 59's debut album was released.
For nearly 20 years this demo was unavailable to the public. But that changed in 2012 when half of its songs were suddenly uploaded to the file-sharing website MediaFire; they can be found here.
