New Tour Page

I've created a new page dedicated to documenting Starflyer 59's tours. It will feature as much information on the shows as I can gather. I've only just begun, but I hope to flesh it out soon.

If any of you have any information on the shows that you've seen (whether it's the musicians who played with Jason, the lineup of bands from that tour, videos, photos, flyers, merch, or anything else) please leave it in the comments section on the tour page. Hopefully we can, over time, compile a list of Starflyer 59's live performances.

Tooth & Nail Doumentary Released

On December 3rd, Tooth & Nail Records finally released its long-awaited documentary, No New Kinda Story. The film takes viewers on a journey through the label's 20-year career, presenting many artists along the way, including Starflyer 59, from whose song the documentary takes its title. We can expect to see an interview with Jason Martin, as (quickly) featured in the trailer below.

You can order the documentary now from Tooth & Nail's website. Bundles are also offered which include the limited edition hardcover T&N anniversary book, T-shirts, sweaters, and coffee mugs.

White Lighter Releases Debut Record

Last week, on November 25th, Northern Records released White Lighter's Jason Martin-produced eponymous debut record on Bandcamp and vinyl. Though it isn't listed on the Bandcamp page, it has been confirmed by a fan that the vinyl's liner notes credit Martin with not only production but also keyboard-playing.

Featuring Jason Martin, Steve Dail (guitar, bass), and Stavesacre lead singer Mark Salomon (vocals), White Lighter acts as a kind of distant cousin to the presumably-defunct post-punk outfit Neon Horse, a "mystery" band whose roster was eventually revealed to consist of all three aforementioned musicians, among others. The members involved in White Lighter with no connections to Neon Horse are Andy Prickett (guitar) and David Brotherton and Trey Many (both percussion). All members except Salomon have appeared on Starflyer 59 releases.

White Lighter is an album I would describe as "Gothic post-punk." There is an upbeat darkness to it that wouldn't be entirely out-of-place in a Halloween-themed playlist. Give it a listen on Northern Records' Bandcamp page. You can download it for $7 and get it on vinyl for $17.
